There will be a memorial service at Fort Campbell today.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Julie and the three girls (Keely, Madeline, Erin); Bob & Kate (John's parents); and Susan, Greg, Olivia, & Will (John's sister and family).
Final arrangements have yet to be made, although it is expected there will be a service at Arlington National Cemetery sometime next week. There will also be a wake for John at a funeral home in Virginia the night before the burial at Arlington.
I am coming up with a list of hotels for out-of-town guests, which will be posted here in the next day or so.

I have a young son just 21 yrs old. He is stationed in Afghanistan at this time about 15 miles from the crash site.
He has been there for about 1 yr and is scheduled to come home.
We have talk a little about the accident and out of reapect for your soldier and his companions of that day he will say very little.
But know we are with the family at this time.
You are in our hearts and souls at this time.
I have had 4 call this past year about the loss of loved ones from my sons unit and each time I feel juat as saddened as the family does.
It may not have been my son, but he was someones son, is what my heart says and it hurts the same.
All of us in the military no matter what branch are a family of one.
And we grieve as one...
